Privacy Policy

The Short Version
Rentproof stores all your data locally on your device.We don't collect it, we don't transmit it, we don't sell it. We never see your photos, your address, your lease details, or anything else. There is no account, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no tracking.
Data Storage
All property information, photographs, inspection checklists, issue reports, and lease details are stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework with encrypted local storage. No data is transmitted to any server, ever. Your rental documentation stays completely private.
Camera & Location Permissions
Rentproof uses your device's camera to capture condition photos and CoreLocation to embed GPS coordinates in those photos. This creates verifiable evidence with location data. All of this is stored locally and is never transmitted anywhere.
Camera and location access are requested only when you initiate a photo capture. You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
No Analytics or Tracking
Rentproof does not include any analytics frameworks, crash reporting tools, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels. We have no way to identify you, track your usage, or collect any data about your behavior.

PDF Reports
When you generate a PDF report, it is created entirely on your device using on-device processing. The report is not uploaded to any server. You control how and with whom you share it via iOS's native share sheet.
Notifications
Lease expiry reminders (at 60, 30, and 14 days) and monthly documentation prompts are scheduled as local notifications on your device. No data is sent to a push notification server. These reminders work entirely offline.
Apple Watch
The Rentproof Apple Watch companion app displays lease countdown information and deposit amounts synced from your iPhone via Apple's Watch Connectivity framework. This data transfer happens directly between your devices and never passes through external servers.
iCloud Backup
If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your Rentproof data may be included in your device's encrypted iCloud backup. This is controlled by your iOS settings, not by Rentproof. You can exclude the app from iCloud Backup in iOS Settings if desired.
Data Deletion
You can delete all your Rentproof data at any time:
- Delete individual properties, rooms, or photos within the app
- Use Settings → Data → Delete All Data to remove everything
- Delete the app from your device to remove all data permanently
Once deleted, data cannot be recovered as there is no cloud backup.
Children's Privacy
Rentproof is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we collect no data at all, this is inherently enforced.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we don't collect data, we have no way to notify you directly — please check back periodically.
